Request from the carrier the new planned departure and arrival times, the container’s current location, restrictions on plan changes, and the applicable booking terms.
Specify the confirmation date.
The preliminary date of the next voyage does not equal a guaranteed delivery time; the right to compensation and cancellation terms are checked against the specific contract and the service provider’s offer.
Maersk describes a separate Rollable option for its Spot service.
Its rules cannot be applied to any transfer, another carrier, or a Russian route.

Check the buyer’s agreed date, the batch’s condition, storage conditions, remaining shelf life, and payment calendar.
Assign ownership of each confirmation.
If the product requires a specific temperature regime, obtain information about storage and equipment power supply from the responsible executor.
Do not assume safety based solely on the container remaining at the terminal.
Identify who needs to be informed about the change: the buyer, manufacturer, insurer, bank, or other parties — depending on the deal.
Do not assume that one forwarder’s response confirms all parties’ positions.
Compare wait and alternative
For each option, record availability, date forecasts, price, additional services, document amendment requirements, and the source of the proposal.
Separately list costs that remain the same for any option — they must not artificially favour the alternative.
Hypothetical example: if waiting, an additional confirmed cost is 300 units.
An alternative route requires an extra 450 units but avoids the 300 units.
Its additional cost relative to waiting is 150 units if there are no other differences.
Potential time benefits are assessed separately and are not guaranteed.
If the alternative proposal is not confirmed, do not treat it as an available option.
Show the manager until when confirmation can be obtained and what happens if you wait for a response.
Agree the decision with the buyer
Describe the change with simple data: what is confirmed, what remains a forecast, what options are available, and what decision is required.
Discussing the timeline does not replace contract changes if needed.
Record the decision made and the people who confirmed it.
Only a person with appropriate authority can order a change in transportation.
After selection, verify the updated booking, instructions, and internal calendar.
The record should retain the original plan and the reason for the change.
Check the next event
Set a time for the next update based on an actual event: confirmation of space, loading, departure, or another agreed checkpoint.
If the event does not occur, reopen the issue.
