The name of the powder does not yet confirm suitability
The buyer is looking for powdered milk for their production.
In the correspondence, abbreviated names, commercial designations and similar mixtures appear.
The same appearance does not prove the same composition or performance in the production process.
The FAO lists dairy powders, whey powders and mixtures with vegetable fat separately.
This analysis helps to prepare data for selecting and testing the product.
It does not establish a manufacturer’s market access or set universal composition standards.
Let’s discuss the dairy ingredient card in your company
I’ll help you analyse the dairy ingredient card, collect initial data and confirmations, identify participants and next steps.
We’ll also discuss similar challenges and related foreign trade tasks in your company.
The scope of support will be agreed upon before starting the work.
Link the composition to the buyer’s purpose
The manufacturer confirms the exact name, composition, type of raw material, processing and current specification.
The buyer describes the use and properties that are important in their process.
Technological tests should not be replaced by comparing a single line about fat content.
For analysis results, specify the method, units, calculation basis and batch.
The same percentage may refer to different bases for expressing the indicator; this should be clarified before comparison.
Packaging, storage and shelf life conditions are obtained from the manufacturer and checked against the requirements of the destination.
Working ingredient card
The table is a tool for exchanging initial information.
| Block | Confirmation |
|---|---|
| Identity | Full name and composition |
| Production | Manufacturer, site and specification edition |
| Indicators | Method, unit and batch identified in the test report |
| Use | Buyer’s technology requirements |
| Verification | Test plan and result criteria |
If a different composition or mixture is proposed, reflect the difference directly.
Do not retain the previous name just to match the buyer’s request.
Separate sample assessment from batch acceptance
An illustrative scenario: a small sample showed the required behaviour in the process, but the manufacturer changed the composition before the main shipment.
Approval of the previous sample does not confirm the new configuration.
It is necessary to agree on a re-test of the affected properties.
Keep the sample number, its link to the product and the buyer’s written result.
Separately establish which parameters are checked for each batch and which changes trigger a new test.
Do not issue an internal card as a certificate of conformity.
Pass the set to relevant participants
After technical agreement, check the applicable requirements for the product, manufacturer, labelling and documents for the destination country.
These issues are related, but none are automatically resolved by the result of process trial.
To prepare initial characteristics, use the export product dossier.
The powdered milk card adds the buyer’s purpose and verification of the ingredient’s behaviour to it, so that the commercial choice does not rely on a short name.
